Dial it up and Light it up for Red...

Game Three Reaction

A few quick thoughts to game three at MSG...

For the Knicks, Amare is clearly not close to 100%.  He looked OK very early, but seemed to really stiffen up as the game went on and couldn't get anything going.  The fact that Billups was out really hurt the Kicks as well.  They have no one that can handle and distribute the ball to Amare and Melo.  All that forced Melo to do everything.  When the Cs have a couple of days to prepare for that defensively, that is going to be too much for one player to take on.

The Knicks supporting cast looked thoroughly overmatched and pathetic.  Douglas can shoot, but can't distribute.  Walker and Jeffries are fine as role players off the bench, but you can't ask them to contribute offensively.  Williams was the only guy that brought anything to the table.

For the Cs, Paul, Ray, and Rondo were nearly flawless.  There were stretches when Ray and Paul could not miss and Rondo had a triple-double in the third quarter.  As a whole, they decided to play some serious D, move the ball, and run plays.

On the less than positive side, the bench was still pretty terrible.  Having Ray and Paul on fire is great, but if the offense only clicks when they are in, they are going to log some serious minutes at a time when they want to keep some fresh legs.  However, Jeff Green looked pretty good when he played with the starters.

For some reason, KG was very hesitant on the offensive end.  He played some good D and got some boards, but passed up a lot of shots, leading to a few forced passes and turnovers.

Ultimately, this was a dismantling, due to the Cs playing great on both ends against a depleted Knicks team.  While I would be shocked to see this even go five games because of the blood in the water, it would be nice to see the Cs crush their spirit again on Sunday and get some time off before the next series.

KC Jones' Note: Big Ran-great summation of what went on , I think Mike and Mike in the Morning should watch their backs, someone is going to be taking over on ESPN.

Blackout...

This just in: New York City is experiencing it's second major blackout of all time and its even bigger than the one in 1977. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics have pulled the plug, shooting LIGHTS OUT! Dead silence and darkness in MSG....hoping for an Easter Sunday sweep....GO C's!

That's right Spike...too bad your precious Knicks can't seem to "Do The Right Thing" and win a game in this series....

Big Ran: Can I holla?  CanIhollacanIhollacanIholla?!?!?!?!?  Could have been the local broadcast, but I didn't see much of Spike tonight.  That's a shame.

Who ya Got?

Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A or the cover, by Nina Gordon.

VS.

Gotta be honest on this one.  Monday through Saturday, I am gonna bump NWA, but maybe on a rainy Sunday Morning, or for Easter brunch at my in-laws this weekend, I make a playlist with Nina's version on it and just really let the lyrics wash over me.

My Kind of Party

Toronto Sun - Police in Kitchener, Ont., say officers arrested a woman Sunday who was driving while only partially dressed and with a pet bird flying loose in her car.

At 3:16 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police said the 58-year-old woman was driving down a street while continuously blowing her horn. Concerned for the driver's well-being, police tried to pull the car over. But police say the car didn't stop and hit a city bus and then another vehicle before officers were able to arrest the driver.

No one was injured. Police said the driver wasn't going at an excessive speed and alcohol wasn't a factor.
The driver was taken to hospital for assessment.

Humane society officials caught the bird and are now caring for it.

Kitchener is located 125 km west of Toronto.

3:16 pm on a Sunday, huh?  Looks like she was celebrating Palm Sunday with KC Jones again.  This was a really short story, but the awesomeness to word ratio is off the charts. Naked driving, hitting a bus, a bird flying around the car, and no alcohol was involved.  This is why I would never want to be a cop.  Not only can it be a dangerous job, but I think it's the lunatics you would have to deal with on a daily basis that would drive you out of your mind.

Lunchtime Look-a-Like

David "Big Papi" Ortiz and Florida Evins/Esther Rolle.  If you're local to the Boston area, you may have heard this one before, so I'm not breaking any major ground here, but it really is remarkable.  We're crossing some boundaries here: different genders, different ethnicities, lots to like.

America, F*CK YEAH!

I'm not a hockey guy, but I'll watch playoff hockey and anytime you can make French Canadians go home unhappy, you have to do it.  Also, whenever you can flip all those people off after scoring a goal, you have to do that too.  I just wish he didn't say his glove got stuck and just said, "Yup, I flipped all those fuckers off."

Dial it up for freedom, bitches...
