I used to be all about Eva Mendes....thought she was beautiful. However, over the past year or so, I've caught of few shots of her where she looks like a tranny......So, I'll leave it to our readers...Hot or Not?

Honestly, I don't know if it's the way she's made up sometimes or what, but there are just certain times when her features are so severe and her makeup is so over the top that she looks like she might be a he. I think the bottom line is this; less is more. The less makeup/hair/etc, the better for her.

OK, first off, these two look alike when you check out specific pics on google.  Second of all, they were born within 11 days of each other.  Blanchett can go from looking beautiful to kind of creepy.  She;s got a bit of an unnerving smile, like she may kill you in your sleep.  Heche jumped into fame for dating Ellen Degeneres and has seen middling success.  Hung is a great show, too bad it's been cancelled.

Results...In my opinion, Cate Blanchett, good looking.  Anne Heche?  I can't figure it out.  Maybe its the Ellen thing and her self proclaimed insanity that is pushing me to say no.  Career wise, Blanchett wins in a landslide, but in an actual fight, Heche in a bloodbath.  Blanchett would have the reach, but you can't teach crazy, you have to earn it, live it.  Heche has.

Is This Person Good Looking?

Hope Solo.  This is obviously topical right now since the US Women's World Cup team just pulled out a miracle, last-second win against Brazil and will be facing France in the semi finals tomorrow (I knew all that off the top of my head, how about that?).  Hope is the talk of the World Cup around not only because she's the goalie, but a very good one, and possibly quite attractive.

I'll be honest here; sometimes her eyebrows and jaw scare me.  She's got some aggressive eyebrows, but that's OK, it matches her style of play.  I think she could be hit or miss for some people, depending on their taste.  So, while she's not necessarily my type, and she is a bit jacked, I am going with yes, she is good looking.  If she got naked in a magazine, I'd look at it and that has to be worth something, right?  I just won't play her in PlayStation if she has a sleeveless shirt on.

Is This Person Good Looking?

You all know this chick, she's the T-Mobile commercial chick.  I did, literally the minimum amount of research possible and found out her name is Carly Foulkes, hails from Toronto, and has done predominantly modeling throughout her career. All of her photos are model type shots, so there may be a heavy-handed air brush artist involved.  Who knows.

When I first saw the T-Mobil commercials, I was intrigued, but I think that was more a case of the sun dress phenomena* rather than finding her amazingly attractive.  Lots of artsy / JCrew bathing suit type photos:

So, is she good looking?  Sure, absolutely, but I wish she would have a hamburger and a protein shake and quit eating dinner with Reggie Miller.

On another note, how much do you want to hit that scrawny rapping guy in the second commercial across the back with a folding chair, WWF-style?  In my "research" for this blog I found a listing for "Would you rather bang the T-Mobil girl or punch her white rapper-friend in his smug face."

Is This Person Good Looking?

Hey errbody!  I'm here with another installment of "Is This Person Good Looking?"  Today, we have Anna Paquin, currently of the big HBO hit, True Blood, which will be coming back for its fourth season on June 26th.  I'm not into vampire stuff, but this is a really good show.  My guess is that KC would hate it with a white hot fiery passion.  Anyway, Anna Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse on the show is always an enigma to me; sometimes looking good, sometimes just making me confused, so here we go.

Looking good:

It totally works for True Blood because it is set in backwoods Louisiana and I don't picture a lot of high end dental care going on in a place like that.  That smile is tough to get past, but I'm not hating on her.  I look like a tool when I try to smile in photos, so that's why I mean mug in every picture possible, even family holiday photos.

Is This Person Good Looking?

A question as old as time itself, or maybe like 2 years:  Is Lady Gaga good looking?  Honestly, I have no idea what to make of her.  Ever since the dong fiasco last year, I am always in serious doubt.  Anyway, I always have serious respect for actors and musicians that do an SNL Digital Short (this will require a separate post itself), so let's gather some info.

Welcome to Bizarro Sesame Street

Looking online is really a hit or miss, as many good as bad depending on your taste or tolerance for the outlandish (read: meat dresses).  Now here's where I get back to my SNL Digital Short reference: she was on the past Saturday as the musical guest with Justin Timberlake hosting and in the short she looked friggin' AWESOME.  A little Jersey Shorish, but awesome.

This turned it around for me, but I'm still not ready to commit.  What do you think?

PS:  Great SNL Short.  Gaga comes in around the 1:25 mark, but it is definitely worth watching the whole thing.

PPS: KC Jones says, Big Ran, if by "friggin awesome" you mean 'rode hard and put away wet', I feel you. I'm sorry, but in this still above, Gaga is bearing a striking resemblance to everyone's favorite trainwreck, Amy Winehouse (obviously with different haircolors). For your reference:

*Big Ran Note:  I LOVE the term "ridden hard and put away wet."  I have used that at work and nobody knew what I was talking about, so KC gets points for that.  Have you seen Winehouse lately?  No dice on that one anymore.

Is This Person Good Looking?

To continue on with Big Ran's "Is This Person Good Looking?" section, I'd like to present this person for your consideration (as I anxiously await Big Ran's commentary):

If you're going to judge based on the first picture, the answer is very clear: she's attractive. However, because she frequently pops up looking similar to the second picture,  I'm inclined to say she's not attractive at all.  I feel like there are two faces on her body and in some lights, you see a sophisticated beauty and in others, you see what resembles a young boy or an evil critter. If you remember, there was a "Seinfeld" episode with a similar premise. It probably doesn't help that she played a trans-gender teen, (a boy who discovers they are biologically a female) very well in Boys Don't Cry. However, even without that, I'm still conflicted.

She's very angular, bony, and from certain angles, just appears harsh. I think that for her, the most important accessory is her hair. In the pictures with mid-length/longer hairstyle, her angles are softer and more feminine.  Short is just too severe with her features! Very few women can have short hair, so this isn't an insult. I certainly couldn't, I've just been fortunate enough to have people in my life who wouldn't even let me try it! And it's absolutely crucial that she wear some sort of makeup. She doesn't need to pile it on like the trash found at the Jersey Shore, but a little lip gloss and a soft blush never hurt anyone.On a positive note, she's got a great body and great skin--she definitely takes care of herself. There are just certain changes that need to happen so her gender isn't questioned anymore!

One final note: I'm not trying to be mean here, because trust me, I'm no prize. I could easily be put in this section with the final verdict being unattractive. However, fortunately for me, this is "The Takeover" and I'm one of the authors and I'm not in the public eye. I can say these things and avoid having bad pictures of myself posted all over gossip mags and the Internet.

*Big Ran Note:  This is a great case for "Is This Person Good Looking?"  Personally, I say no, she is not good looking.  Too mannish for me.  Now, I will grant you that in the first and last pictures she looks great.  However, if it takes an army of people to make you look that way, are you really good looking.  If I wake up next to that third, or even worse, fourth picture, I don't know what I do with the rest of my life, because it would never be the same.

From time to time, when I may be watching TV or online, I'll come across someone famous and really not know if they are good looking or not.  Like, sometimes, they look friggin' awesome, then other times they are shockingly horrific.  I'm not bringing much to the table today, so you might get a few of these.  First up...

The good...

OK, so I tried to get a variety of pics here.  One that could be airbrushed all to hell, a more candid one, and one where her stuff is together, but wouldn't be airbrushed.  For these three, I'm saying good looking, nothing wrong with these.

The not so good...

So, I'm not really sure what to make of Uma.  Some angles, she's looking good.  Others?  Not so much.  Her name is fun to say, so she's got that going for her.
